We enjoyed a private holiday party with Sarah and staff after hours at Faye’s Café. Our group of 20 plus felt right at home in the cozy café. Sarah provided a superb breakfast and dinner for a large gathering of our family and friends at the Double T River Ranch in Clyde Park. She prepared everything exactly as we discussed, but until we tasted her food, we couldn’t have been prepared for how delicious everything would be! Her signature mac and cheese is a must, and her grilled meats and vegetables were fantastic, too. The kids and adults practically fought over the chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches at the end of dinner. Sarah is a wonderful cook, caterer and a delightful person, too. Sarah prepared two dinners for our family reunion of 14 people, held at a vacation rental home in Paradise Valley in August 2014. During the planning, she took all our thoughts and restrictions into account and proposed detailed menus to meet our budget. She brought all the meal ingredients to the house for final preparation and cooking in the kitchen. Both meals were very well received by the entire group, and there was even food left over! Sarah was a delight to work with and the meals were fabulous. I highly recommend her.

I wish I had taken more photos of the stellar meal you catered for our dinner party for 17 guests last Saturday, but I was too busy enjoying it all! From the very start with the shrimp-stuffed jalapeño appetizers, our eyes were all rolling in ecstasy from the amazing flavors, textures and lovely presentation of every course. The maple lime vinaigrette salad topped with dover sole was outstanding, and the succulent Wagyu beef with Sundried Tomato, artichoke and pine nuts over pasta was a big hit with our gang. Your lemon burst cake with fresh berries was so delicious that we were all fighting over the last leftover squares of it late into the night! You were so thoughtful and accommodating when one guest had a dietary restriction that we didn’t know about. Before I could even blink, you made special adjustments and substitutions to her meal. Thank you so much for providing a memorable fine dining experience without every leaving our vacation accommodations. You made it so easy for us to be hosts to a large party. WOW! Sarah catered our wedding at the Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon in October 2013. She did an excellent job! We wanted upscale food, something other than the typical fish, beef and chicken dishes that most weddings have, but on a budget. Sarah accommodated our budget and filled the bellies of all our guests by providing an elegant hors d’oeuvres. We had everything from mac n cheese to salmon cakes, beef skewers, fresh roasted vegetables and even fresh Yellow Fin tuna. Sarah accommodated the wide dietary needs all our guests; we had a wide age range of family and friends from all over the world; as far as Germany and Australia to as near as California, New York, and Seattle. We received such rave compliments from our guests on how wonderful the food was and how great the staff was. Sarah and her staff just went above and beyond to accommodate us and our guests. My husband and I are self-proclaimed foodies and really appreciate a great meal. We had Chef Sarah Knecht cater our wedding with an array of different appetizers. She did not disappoint! I cannot say enough good things about Sarah and her food! She is an absolute pleasure to work with. She listened to what my vision was for my wedding meal and delivered beyond what I could ever imagine. She was in constant communication with me up to the day of the wedding so I never had to wonder what was going on with the menu, or with set up/preparation plans. Our wedding ran a bit late, which pushed the food service time back as well. She didn’t seem phased one bit. Sarah is incredibly calm and professional.

Since the first day we made contact with Chef Sarah for our wedding planning, she has been a pleasure to work with. It was important to us to have a good working relationship with our vendors and an open line of communication. Chef Sarah didn’t disappoint! Sarah’s welcoming and friendly personality made it easy for us to plan WITH her. It was clear to us that she was open to sharing with our guests if they had any questions about the delicious food she was preparing. She welcomed our children and nieces into the kitchen on the day of the wedding to help prepare the reception food – which the kids loved! Sarah sent emails to us out of the blue to say she was excited about sharing in our special day with us. I can’t tell you how much that meant to my then-fiance and I as we went into the final week of wedding prep. We felt completely taken care of and had no worries whatsoever on our wedding day. Let me not forget to mention the outstanding food quality. The Buffalo prime rib was out of this world! The potato crusted Salmon enticed even the “fish-haters” in our party to try it and LOVE it! Chef Knecht is also creative and able to think on her feet. After visiting a local emu farm in rural Montana we brought her back some filets. Although this was a first, she didn’t miss a beat and grilled them up beautifully to accompany our dinner. When handed other special requests and preferences she did an exceptional job of providing alternative menu options in a timely and thoughtful manner. She is consistently quick on her feet without sacrificing a commitment to quality.
Not only is Sarah an outstanding chef, she is a wonderfully kind and thoughtful person. It was a true pleasure to share time together at our family reunion. I look forward to our culinary paths crossing again one day. Oh—Did I mention that she makes the best rice crispy treats in the entire world? Seriously. To-die-for.

Thank you so much to Sarah and her team for catering our wedding at the Double T this spring. From the time I sat down with Sarah in Livingston to have our first brainstorming lesson, I felt she would do a fine job preparing the meals for our weekend wedding. She was flexible and creative, listened well and incorporated many details into the food, without making it fussy. Sarah communicated a reasonable budget range for the items we were planning and kept within that realm, while taking no shortcuts. She and her crew arrived prepared, and yet still managed to be flexible to the crowd and space as they worked and requests were made of them. The presentation of buffet and served items was thoughtful and attractive, and the food delicious. Everyone raved about the diversity in the menu, the attention to flavor and balance between courses. The clean-up was efficient and respectful of the other activities everyone was enjoying. Our family LOVED the catered breakfast in the morning – such a special treat to have home-made cinnamon rolls, omelets to order and all fresh, delicious accompaniments. We also enjoyed all of the goodies left to snack on for lunch after everyone departed. Sarah, you did a great job. We’re the types that fancy ourselves laid back and easy going. In that comes a lot complications when you also have high expectations. Sarah not only met us at the last minute and was easy to work with, but she made some delicious food and did it with a great attitude. Chef Sarah did more than cater our wedding — she created a menu that fit us as a couple perfectly! Paul’s taste for spice was met with Sarah’s amazing stuffed jalepenos, and Rachel’s love of fish and summer berries with smoked salmon and fresh berries and crackers. Our guests raved about the main meal —babyback ribs with Chef Sarah’s own Montana BBQ sauce and grilled chicken with huckleberry and tarragon sauce. Her bootstrap biscuits were a huge favorite not only with the kids at the wedding but adults alike. And the vegetarian green chili enchiladas? Better than any we’ve ever had!

I write this review on one condition, per my husband…. Sarah, send some Seriously Mac & Cheese, please. (Good thing I bought her new cookbook!) Chef Sarah assisted with planning our annual employee Christmas Party for a large group of hungry railroaders. She was able create a hearty menu within the budget allotted and ensure food was plentiful (and delicious!). Not a light task, as the final guest count kept escalating! Along with being pleasurable to work with; Sarah is very confident and professional in her planning process, which leads to a successful event! I purchased Sarah’s new cookbook, hot off the press in December. I love all of the personal touches added throughout, along with the “Yumtwist” variations offered. I live out of state and used Sarah for our outdoor wedding in Bozeman. From start to finish, Sarah went over and above to ensure a smooth event, leaving no worries or concerns for the bride. She was very flexible, offered creative ideas, and even offered to prep extra food for our Sunday brunch. Most importantly, she is passionate about her craft and it shows as soon as you take a bite of the succulent ribs or festive salad. All of our guests commented on the quality and presentation of the food – and we had some picky eaters in the group! She satisfied all of them. Sarah is personable, relaxed and organized which are key attributes when hiring a catering professional. She and her team had to make due with a fairly small kitchen – without the tools of a professional kitchen. I think the kitchen looked better after they left than it did before they came.

Sarah has me eating things I don’t even like, and loving them. I don’t like potato salad but after one taste, I heaped that irresistible salad made with potatoes on my plate. I don’t like chocolate or dessert but just ate that entire chocolate mousse dessert and am eyeing a second. And on and on. She has catered a numerous events I have been involved in, I have learned to try everything she puts out and haven’t tasted anything yet that wasn’t delicious. The wonderfully creative Chef Sarah Knecht is now considered part of our beloved “extended family”. Her innovative culinary skills and technical abilities are unparalleled. For ethical and health reasons, I’ve changed my eating habits over the past year. I’ve eliminated dairy and grains. I eat mostly sustainably produced local grass-fed meat, organic vegetables and free range local eggs.(for those interested, check out ‘Paleo Diet’) I feel much better and really enjoy eating this way. It is always a challenge to go to social functions where there is a buffet of yummy foods and nothing that fits my food plan. Enter Chef Sarah. I have been thrilled to find, at the last two such functions I attended, a wide array of delicious food that totally fit my food plan. Sarah Knecht prepared food for our wedding in the beautiful Paradise Valley. Working with chef Knecht was a much more creative, interactive experience than we thought possible. I just took a cooking class from Sarah Knecht, “ Dinners to Remember” it was a class to remember, YUMMY! The first time I took a class from Sarah a friend encouraged me to go with her. I thought it would be some gourmet food class I would not ever do at home, my friend said come and we will eat. It was great food and I came away encouraged to experiment, and not be bound by a recipe. At “Dinners to Remember” Sarah again showed us how to make common simple dishes into something special without a lot of fuss.
